I photographed this lone oak tree while out on a drive near my home. Santa Ynez is about 45 mins away and is loaded with oak trees each having their own unique personaities. I often see cows shading themselves under this tree. We were having very cloudy skies and light rain in Santa Barbara this afternoon so I decided to drive out to this tree and see if the conditions were right to make a photograph. It’s usually very clear but on this day I was able to capture some dramatic distant thunder clouds as a backdrop for the oak tree.
