Point Lobo Reserve is one of my favorite places to photograph. It’s got everything from rugged coastline to serene wooded areas with plenty of wildlife. I got there as often as I can and rarely do I run out of things to photograph. On the day I photographed this scene it was late in the afternoon and I was tired from hiking all day. I saw this scene and noticed the waves were larger than I had previously seen so I placed my camera on a spot that looked good and waiting for the right wave to arrive. After about 30 mins it finally came. I was also fortunate to have 2 gulls sitting on the rocks to add a nice calmness to the rough surf as it pounded the rocks.
